Adapt Peacebuilding has advised more that thirty foreign governments, non-state armed groups, donor consortia, United Nations agencies, and international NGOs on peacebuilding innovation since 2015. We specialise in inclusive, adaptive, dialogic, and psychosocial medthodologies for settings of conflict and inequity.
Adapt Peacebuilding assists national and international stakeholders with the design, negotiation, implementation, and monitoring of ceasefire and peace agreements in active conflict settings. We are particularly experienced in strategies and mechanisms for including civil society.
E.g. From 2012 to 2017 we advised leading non-state and governmental parties in the negotiation and implementation of Myanmar’s bilateral and national ceasefires, supported the design of the 2015 administration’s national political dialog process, and provided design and training for track II and III dialogue processes. Since 2018, we have advised various Colombian government stakeholders and supported track II and III processes in implementation of the Colombian peace agreement.
Drawing upon PhD-level expertise, Adapt has designed, managed, and implemented dozens of applied research processes in conflict settings for policy and academic purposes. Our specialities include conflict analysis, conflict sensitivity analysis, program evaluations, participatory research methods, and action research.
We design and deliver training and coaching to organisations and individuals in peacebuilding theory, dialog and facilitation techniques, conflict sensitivity practice, peace research methods, adaptive management, and mindfulness and trauma sensitive approaches.
E.g. Adapt Peacebuilding’s collaborates in the training and facilitation of the Organisation for Security Cooperation in Europe’s flagship Women’s Peace Leadership Program. This supports and connects mid-level women peace leaders from member states with senior female mentors.
Adapt Peacebuilding specialises in programming methodologies for rapid learning and improvement of program quality in complex and dynamic environments. We are also leading advocates and innovators in the use of complexity-aware monitoring and evaluation methods to measure impact and wnsure rigorous programming in these settings. We support other organisations with orgaisational diagnostic tools, adaptive management methodologies, organisational change processes, and complexity-aware evaluation approaches and learning frameworks.
E.g. Between 2018 and 2021 Adapt Peacebuilding advised Christian Aid Ireland on planning, monitoring and evaluation, and adaptive management methodologies across seven volatile and conflict-affected country programs.
Adapt Peacebuilding provides trainings and direct interventions for organisations related to wellbeing and resilience of staff and beneficiaries in volatile and conflict-affected settings.
E.g. From 2020-23 Adapt Peacebuilding’s associates designed and implemented trainings for hundreds of United Nations employees globally as part of the United Nations Foundation’s Peace on Purpose Initiative.
